The benefits of Silent Cubes

Highest security

With conventional hard disk storage, user error cannot be completely eliminated. However, the FAST LTA WORM controller protects data from erasure and overwriting at the lowest hardware level.

To protect against batch failures, 4 hard drives from 3 production batches are used per Cube. The redundancy coding of a Silent Cube with 4 redundancies is more secure than a mirrored RAID6 configuration – with a better gross/net ratio.

The data are regularly and automatically checked bit by bit within the storage unit by means of a digital audit. Faults can thus be detected and corrected at an early stage.

Scalable and modular

Silent Cubes storage systems are scalable to more than 4,000 terabytes. You can add storage units at any time to adjust capacity to meet your growing needs.

Silent Cubes offer a compact, award-winning design and are designed for 19-inch rack mounting.

To protect against the loss of an entire system, for example due to fire or water damage, the Silent Cubes installation can be replicated to a second location. The software required for this is included with the system at no additional cost.

Energy & cost savings

Silent Cubes are certified as CAS (Content Addressed Storage) for compliant archiving and thus meet the relevant legal requirements – at a convincing price. Special features include low operating and energy costs.

Silent Cubes consume less than 2 watts per long-term storage unit in standby. Energy requirements for power and cooling are lower than any other long-term storage.

Installation, maintenance and expansion of the Silent Cubes require exceptionally low personnel costs, saving you money on your IT budget.

All-round worry-free service

FAST LTA offers comprehensive service as part of the Silent Cubes maintenance contract. Upon request, we are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In case of failure, FAST LTA replaces the affected components via on-site service with full preservation of the data stored on the long-term storage media. Software updates and hardware costs are also fully covered.

Integrated monitoring (e-mail, SNMP) provides insight into the status of the system at any time via a web browser and regularly informs FAST LTA via e-mail. This allows FAST LTA to proactively ensure the safe, smooth operation of your system.

Cloud experience – discover our FLEX & STAR models

Flexible billing for your archive storage: With FAST LTA FLEX , we offer billing for Silent Cubes Pro systems based on actual capacity used.

As with cloud-based storage, you only pay for what you actually use. We provide expansion, maintenance and all updates.

Second location without the need for a second location: with FAST LTA STAR, we provide protection for your Silent Cubes system in the event of a disaster.

Your local system (or your first FLEX instance) is replicated in our data center. This means that your data is always backed up, even in the event of a total failure.
